Since moving to the Algarve in Portugal from the UK a few years ago, Katrina Rose has been working in acrylic on canvas. Colour is her chief motivation, influenced by the Region’s wonderful light.
She is repeatedly drawn to water both artistically and geographically, invoking memories of places visited recently or a long time ago, created in a loose, impressionistic style.
After a professional business career of 31 years and attaining a degree in “History of Art” from the University of Kingston, through the Regent Academy, she has resumed her creative journey as an artist who is passionate about painting.
She began exhibiting in the UK in 2004 and in Portugal since 2007.
Mainly land, sky and seascapes and now still life, in acrylic on canvas.
