Local artist Alberto Martins was born in Portimão and started drawing as a child. His first exhibition was at the age of 15 in Portimão high school. He started painting with watercolour at 16. He has illustrated British magazines and made caricatures for Swiss multinational Sandoz.
He has exhibited in the Giaconda Gallery in Praia da Rocha, the Yela Gallery in Lisbon, Apolo Arte, Lugo and the Castle House in Ponte de Lima. His works can be seen in the Museum Diogo Gonçalves in Portimão and in the Museum of Lagos.
